BalasHapusHomonyms, or multiple meaning words, are words that share the same spelling and the same pronunciation but have different

These words are a verycommon source of confusion when writing. Common examples of sets of homophones include: to, too, and two; they’re and their; bee and be; sun and son; which and witch; and plain and plane. VocabularySpellingCity is a particularly useful tool for learning to correctly use and spell the soundalike words.*.The toys are overthereon the floor.*.The wind gust blew awaytheirpapers.*.Did they saythey’recoming to my party?Homophones ListsHomophones (1-2)4 List(s)Import GroupHomophones (3-5)9 List(s)Import GroupHomophones (6-8)6 List(s)Import GroupHomophones (9-12)7 List(s)Import GroupHomographsare words that are spelled the same, but havedifferent meanings and are often pronounced differentlyas well. BalasHapusDefinition of HomographThe word homograph originated from the Greek wordhomosthat means “the same” andgraphmeans “to write”, and it is used extensively in language. It can be defined as words that are used in such a manner as to give two or more different meanings where the words have the same spelling, but differentmeanings and sometimes different pronunciation as well.Bear (verb) means to endure, and bear (noun) is a name of an animal can be considered as one of the examples of homograph. This literarydevice is one of the types of pun (paronomasia).Similarity with HomonymHomonym is a bigger category of which homographs are a part.. All homograph examples are also identified as homonym examples since a homograph is a specific term, but a homonym is a generalized term. Homographs are words with different meanings but the same spelling such as tire (fatigue) and tire (wheel tire).Difference between Homograph and HomophoneThe basic difference betweenhomophoneand homograph is that homographs are words that have the same spelling such as “He is mycloserelative” and “Pleaseclosethe door.”However, homophones are words thatsound the same and are spelled differently such as “That wasread” and “That wasred.”

HapusHi July.. I think you should make your post in english, cause you are 4th semester. Thanks
BalasHapusHaha yes selfira thanks for the criticism of it
HapusHii Miss Juli, can you give me the examples of using Homograf, Homonim , and Homofon in form of sentences? thank you..
BalasHapusHomofon adalah kata-kata yang memiliki bunyi pengucapan atau pelafalan sama namun bentuk ejaan katanya berbeda.
HapusMisal kata: ‘THEIR’ dan ‘THERE’.
Jika saya mengatakan kata-kata ini, anda tidak bisa mengenalinya dari mendengarkan saya mengucapkannya saja, apakan saya menggunakan kata 'T-H-E-R-E' atau 'T-H-E-I-R'.
Namun demikian kedua kata ini memiliki makna yang berbeda.
'There' dapat digunakan untuk membicarakan mengenai tempat atau posisi.
"He usually leaves the book over there."(Dia bisanya meninggalkan buku disana)
'Their' adalah bentuk penentu kepemilikan dan kata ini bisa digunakan untuk membicarakan sesuatu milik seseorang atau benda-benda.
"She says she will take their bag."(dia mengatakan dia akan membawa tasnya)
Disini ada dua contoh lain dari homofon:
‘Here' dan 'Hear’
‘Sight' dan 'Site’
'Accept' dan 'Except'
Homograf adalah dua kata yang dieja sama tapi dilafalkan berbeda.
Kata 'Lead' adalah contoh bentuk homograf.
‘Lead’ dapat merujuk pada besi.
“She hit the table with a lead pipe.” (Dia memukul meja dengan pipa besi)
Atau dapat juga kata 'lead' yang berarti menarik sesuatu bersamaan.
“She will lead the horse along the riverbank.”(dia akan menarik kuda itu sepanjang tepian sungai)
Contoh lainnya meliputi:
‘Tear' dan 'Tear’
‘Wind' dan 'Wind’
‘Live' dan 'Live’
Homonim adalah kata-kata yang terlihat dan terdengar sama tapu memiliki arti yang berbeda.
Kata ‘Lean’ merupakan contoh dari homonim.
kata ini dapat berarti ‘thin’ (kurus).
“After six weeks on the exercise program he looked fit and lean.” (setelah mengikuti program latihan selama 6 minggu dia terlihat fit dan kurus)
Atau kata ini dapat juga merujuk pada kata yang bermakna bersandar pada sesuatu seperti dinding atau meja.
“Lean against the wall if you are tired of standing.”(Bersandarlah pada dinding jika anda lelah berdiri
